Olivia Silva Nery

Ph.D. in History (PUCRS), Master in Social Memory and Cultural Heritage (UFPel) and Bachelor in History (FURG). Currently, she is a Junior Post-doctorate researcher at the Federal University of Pelotas, funded by CNPq. During her Ph.D., she researched the Leal, Santos & C. Factory and did a part of her research abroad (CAPES/PDSE researcher) at the Autonomous University of Lisbon under supervision and guidance of Professor José Amado Mendes, Ph.D. She works with topics concerning Cultural Heritage, Social Memory, Museums, Collections, Industrial Heritage, Brazilian History and History of the city of Rio Grande. She had her research funded by CAPES during the Master’s. Her thesis was approved with praise. She won, in 2014, the award for best Graduate study in the area of Human Sciences in the Graduate Meeting of UFPel.

Maria Leticia Mazzucchi Ferreira

Ph.D. in History (PUCRS), Master in Social Anthropology (UFRGS) and Historian (FURG). Full professor at the Federal University of Pelotas. She is a teacher and researcher in the area of Heritage, mainly within the following topics: industrial heritage, immaterial heritage, public policies on heritage, memory, museums. She is a teacher in the Graduate Program (Master’s/Doctorate degree) in Social Memory and Cultural Heritage of the Federal University of Pelotas. She was a researcher for the National Inventory of Cultural References: Sweet from Pelotas, promoted by IPHAN, Monumenta and UNESCO. She supervised, between 2009 and 2012, the CAFP-CAPES project “Institutions, legislation, territories and communities: perspectives on material and immaterial heritage in Brazil and Argentina”, which involved UFPel and the University of Buenos Aires. She supervised, for the Brazilian part, the cooperation project with the Laboratoire dAnthropologie et de Psychologie Cognitives et Sociales, at the University of Nice, France, taking part in an international investigation project on the Colostrum, funded by ANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche) and supervised by anthropologist Joel Candau. She was the International Affairs Supervisor at UFPel between 2014 and 2016. Areas of interest: museums, memory museums, memorial regimes, cultural heritage, industrial heritage, public policies on heritage and memory.
