1) Who can fill in the form?

All people, of all ages, who recall one or more factories, their products, the workers, the organizations, spaces, warehouses, objects, professions or events of the industrial history of the city of Rio Grande between 1873and 2000.

2) Must I have worked in one of the factories, unions, seaport or railway to give my testimony?

No. You may contribute with your testimony regardless of having worked in one of these places. If you remember any factory or fact of the industrial history due to family, affection, friendship, or due to having lived near an establishment, heard about, gone there in your childhood, studied it at some point, etc., your testimony is very welcomed.

3) Must I be sure about the information to contribute to the project?

No. Every testimony contributes to the project; the information or memories do not have to be precise. You may contribute to the project with your testimony even if you recall only a small fact related to the history and industrial heritage of the city of Rio Grande.

4) Must my memories and information be very old?

Our study also comprises a more recent industrial period, up until 2000. All information between 1873 and 2000 on the history and industrial heritage of the city are important for this study.

5) Must I pay anything to contribute to this study?

No. Contributing with a testimony is uncharged, free and voluntary.

6) Will I be paid for having contributed with a testimony?

No. There is no sort of payment or financial benefit for having contributed with a testimony.

7) Must I be from Rio Grande or live in Rio Grande to contribute?

No. You only have to recall some fact that concerns the history and industrial heritage of the city of Rio Grande between 1873-2000.

8) How many times can I fill in the form?

There is no limit. You may send testimonies as many times as you want.

9) Why must I provide my personal information?

So that we are able to identify the source of the testimony in order to avoid false testimonies.

10) Who will have access to my personal information?

Only the researchers involved in the research project. Your name and age shall only be used to identify the testimony in the study and in the papers that may result from it in case you authorize the display of this information. Other information, such as CPF and telephone number, shall only be accessed by the researchers.

11) How will my testimony be used?

It may be used in full or in parts for historical survey on the history and industrial heritage of the city of Rio Grande. There is no guarantee that all testimonies will be used in studies based on this research (scientific papers, books, websites etc.). Your testimony may be used anonymously, in case you have chosen this option by the end of the form, or with name and age displayed.
