The Cunha Amaral & Co. Factory was founded in 1876 with the name of Albino José da Cunha. In 1900, when my grandfather José da Cunha Amaral (Commander Albino Cunha’s nephew) became partner in this company, it was initially named Cunha, Guimarães & Co. and, later, Cunha, Amaral & Co. […]. They used to produce canned fruits (peach, pear, fig) that were delicious, besides canned peas and fish. There was a canned fish (which said in the can “salmon”) that I used to like a lot.
